1. Which computer system does the company have?

 

There is a network in the company were I’ve worked, Eurotracs. It is server based because it is used by multiple users. There are 23 work stations in the network. The operating system that Eurotracs uses for the server is WINDOW2014 SERVER and it uses WINDOWS 7,8 and 10 for work stations. The computer infrastructure is Intel Pentium and Dual Core and the percentage of it is 100%. The operating system is also Intel Pentium and Dual Core, they have chosen that because they are Microsoft Silver Partner.

 

2. Does the company use the different services of the internet?

 

Eurotracs makes use of the different services of the internet. The company uses surfing, e-mails, social media, … They use this services for the development of their software. ADSL and VDSL are the two internet connections they use.

 

3. Which application programmes are used and for which goals? Why do they choose this kind of packages?

 

The application programmes they use are OFFICE, Visual Studio (development), Jara: helpdesk and TFS: project management. They use Navision, Exact, Office, … for text processing, data processing, invoicing, accountancy and other things. They always choose for the latest new version of Office package, now they have Office 2016. Because they are partners and think it is functional, they have chosen these programmes.
